Minimal on-line research about this elegant hotel included these comments: "Today it is a Leading Hotel of the World and favourite destination for discerning business travelers."
"A treasure-trove of invaluable memorabilia, there is a story to tell behind every pillar, a landmark deal in every boardroom, and a storied celebration under every awning."
Gee Wowie!
I have a glass door porch and haven't done them in over a year. Many windows in my house are not reachable outside because of bushes.
Oh well--if you can't afford to hire help you can't afford a place like that hotel. It's pretty tho.
Anybody see the movie The Best Marigold Hotel?
or something like that.

Oh, yes, Pixi, I saw that - The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel....loved it!! Such a joy to watch brilliant artists weaving their magic web.

We loved it too, Jiggler, and so did our friends so I was shocked when I read a review of the Catholic film committee that gave it an "O" meaning it was a bad film for every one. Huh? Did the reviewer go to the same movie I did and my good Catholic friends who also loved it?

Good grief! I don't think the reviewer was on the same planet, let alone at the same film :-D. If I gave it an O rating, it would mean "Oh, fabulous".

Me too. He had to have been a person too young to know how much people our age still need to have something to hope for.
Good morning/evening all. We had a nice thunderstorm last night so the good Lord has watered my garden for me. Too bad that doesn't work for the windows.
I thought that was what rain was for...watering gardens & washing windows. They have finally gotten a lot of the debri here cleaned up and it is no longer raining mud. Would love to get some rain, but all we are getting now is heat suppose to hit 102 here today.

I don't envy any body out west. When I was young (teen) we went to Fort Worth and the 102 was enjoyable for me as I was always cold. Now I can barely stand the mid 80's.

Washes cars too. We've been having a gusher everyday. At least it keeps the temps down.

The monsoons have finally left and giving us a break in Alabama...it rained 10 days straight...does tend to wear out it's welcome....God Bless have a great day....
We have been getting those rains here in Boston. I just got started cutting the hedges and have to start all over again as the rain makes them healthy and sproooinggg all over again. For a few days we had monsoons earlier in June. Well global warming is messing things up and Mother Nature has to fight back somehow.

The "monsoons" is right. My vegetable garden looks amazingly healthy from all the rain but no veggies. With all the rain most of the growth went into the stalks and leaves. I have platter sized leaves on my cucumbers and the squash leaves are even bigger. They do have some buds though so maybe I'l get some produce from them. My herbs though are also amazing. I've been freezing them and sharing them and they still keep growing back. I've given up on the tomatoes and peppers. What they did produce, the squirrels ate almost as soon as they appeared..I wonder how the farmers are doing?

I'm in Toronto. It was truly a monsoon last night. So much rain that manhole covers popped, cars got stranded as the water rose so fast and even a provincial train got deluged meaning that all travelers went up to the 2nd floor to wait for rescue. There was so much water on the first floor. I'm out east so we just had power flickers. It was west and downtown that got hit badly. Power was out for 300, 00 folk at one point. You can check out pictures at the Toronto Star website.
Stay safe everyone :)

Hi Taffi:
We saw the pix on the news. The train half under water. Wow that must have been frightening. We visited Toronto. Saw and loved the Casa Loma.
Saw the Royal gardens. Sorry for all the people this affects. You stay safe, too.
Me too, Ginny - all those windows not only hard to clean, but also hard to figure out which went where!! I did it in Tessellation - must be a glutton for punishment :-D

Nothing to do with hotels, but very profound.
