My hubby's aunt had heart surgery today. She had a tear in her aorta. I was hoping that it wasn't as invasive - going through the chest. They went through the groin I believe. I asked her what they were doing to her and she didn't know. I said you didn't ask any questions - answer no. She kept saying I'm fine but she had me really concerned!
Was at the Alamo when we lived in Texas during WWII. Don't remember a lot about it --- mainly what I've read. Need to go again! ( I was about 7 years old.)
Visited the Alamo. It has a nice garden and a large second building where prisoners were kept if I remember correctly. There was quite a line of visitors to wait through and it was very crowded. I'm not a history buff but my husband loved going. He remembers historical facts. Dates just don't stay with me and I even have trouble with names but I do remember geography.

Although we were being married in New Hampshire, I wanted to add a touch of my home state, Kansas, to the wedding. My fiance, explaining this to a friend, said that we were planning to have wheat rather than rice thrown after the ceremony.
Our friend thought for a moment. Then he said solemnly, "It's a good thing she's not from Idaho."
(Aussie's comment - for those of you who are not aware, Idaho is quite famous for its potatoes! )
Aussie didn't wake anyone. Joke was hilarious had me laughing so hard tears rolled down my cheeks!!! Thanks my friend and " big sis " ;-D Take care and be safe.

I think it is strange that most of us worry about others' judgment more than we worry about God's judgment. I have finally learned to let what other people think of me fall to the wayside. My life is so much more peaceful now! Blessings.

Walking through the church/chapel (which is all that's left of the Alamo complex) is a memorable experience.
Two of my children are related to Samuel Maverick of San Antonio. He was due to be in a meeting to sign the Texas Declaration of Independence from Mexico and had to sneak out of the Alamo to get to the meeting. Samuel Maverick had a ranch in SA called "The Sunshine Ranch."
