Interesting farm equipment never saw one like that, of course we don't grow wheat. We do grow a lot of hay in eastern Oregon. I wonder if they use them for hay also. Everyone have a good day and be safe.

Debbie, that is called a tractor around here, not a truck. I have seen many of these working out in the fields. Most farmers are not outstanding in their field. They are busy working. They work from the crack of dawn until the crack of darkness and then turn on the headlights and continue working. We would not survive without our beloved farmers.

My brother married into a farming family. The son was bitten by a mosquito and became a semi invalid. The father while seeking to unclog a spigot on his equipment was doused by insecticide. His pores closed up and he had to avoid heat as he could not sweat. he had to use an air conditioned enclosed cab tractor. One sister left to be a nurse and the other went into working for a medical equipment firm. I think the children of the sick brother still live at the farm. They are grown up now. Farming is hard and dangerous but also very rewarding. For wheat farmers the life is ingrained and dairy farmers are seldom cowed by the long hours.

That's unfortunate about the father and son.

Pixi, I wonder how many saw all the puns you had in that story about the Farmer's son. Farmers DO work long hours, and that's no BULL.

Yes. It was very sad. When we stayed at the brother's house for my brother's wedding he was a big, healthy, strapping young man and he had two beautiful little boys and a lovely wife. Five years later he was a semi invalid and his wife was trying to support them all.

Farming makes you feel closer to God
I know cause we were farmers
this is my mystery for today
The wheels are tall so the tractor can go between rows of plants and spray for pests or fertilize the crop. They definitely aren't cheap - around $150, 000 or more, with the sprayer attachment.
These are used to spray crops- corn, beans, cotton - and also to spray a herbicide to defoliate the fields here in eastern NC. They remind me of a big bug going through the field.
