I would rather be near a waterfall than the sea, For me nothing is worse than the beach being full of noisy people so the the ocean can not be heard. I love the sound of running water and birds singing...heaven. May you find your place of peace today and always may God bring you there to give you rest from the noisy world.
Amen to that twice. Waterfalls are my favorite places to be.

I like beaches that have dunes and places to explore. Not into flat sand and nothing else. If they have rock formation it's even better...like the places painted by Monet.

I have a dear friend who is a very talented artist in oil painting. We were talking about the surroundings we love best one day, and she asked me what the elements were that made me feel like everything was complete and peaceful around me. I told her...mountains, trees, boulders, and waterfalls. That year for my birthday, guess what I got! Yep, a painting with every one of those elements. I just love it, and every time I see it, I feel so loved.

Ah but the trick is to live there and go to the beach during the week when all the noisy tourists have gone home lol. I have a special picnic table where I go and read and it is a little touch of heaven. So peaceful with the warmth of the sun, the sound of waves breaking, and fresh sea air. Wish I was there right now, but it is Saturday. Hugs.

Aussie, that is one of my favorite things to do! Just to be by myself, sit and read with nothing but the sun warming me and the sound and feel of the ocean spray. That is my idea of peaceful contentment!
