A unique idea.

"The autumn wind is a pirate. Blustering in from sea with a rollicking song he sweeps along swaggering boisterously. His face is weather beaten, he wears a hooded sash with a silver hat about his head...The autumn wind is a Raider, pillaging just for fun." Steve Sabol

"Don't knock the weather; nine-tenths of the people couldn't start a conversation if it didn't change once in a while. Kin Hubbard

Take care and God bless. Hugs.

The Sabol quote sounds like lyrics to a sea shanty. Is it?

AS could you feel the earthquake in Australia from New Zealand? I am concerned about the people there. That's the second earthquake and they had not recovered from the previous one.

Not sure pixi, it was just so poetic that I wanted to include it, but you are probably right. Hugs.

Parson, I have a friend who lives in NZ but she's north island and they have been fine. Australia is 1000 miles away. Small tsunami on east coast of NZ. That could have caused some trouble.

Dear PW, If we had felt the quake here, New Zealand would have sunk into the sea. A lot of people from North America have the idea that there could be a bridge separating our two countries but this is the distance from where I am (Sydney is a bit closer) to New Zealand.

Distance To Wellington From Brisbane is:
1558 miles / 2507.36 km / 1353.86 nautical miles

It is quite a separate country and they have a unique accent which is quite distinctly their own. My father was from there and I was actually born in Wellington. Mum was from here and they just happened to be over there when I was born. Been here since 1941, so not much of a Kiwi in me. I went over in 1959 to meet my father's side of the family and worked for a short time and the Kiwis (affectionate name for New Zealanders) gave me a hard time over my "accent", so it is quite different. Here endeth today's geography lesson lol. Hugs.

Thanks for the Geography lesson. [See previous comment]. Australia is a large country and I wondered what part of Australia you were from. I then looked at a map of your country and discovered where the devil Tasmania is located in the south.

I live on an island off the coast of Queensland on the eastern side. About 60 km from Brisbane. It is the only island off the coast of Queensland which is attached to the mainland by a bridge, so very accessible to the mainland. Hugs.

Good morning from New Zealand.Yes the earthquake was bad.Mainly in the South Island but also damage to the bottom of the North Island. Two people have died one was an elderly person of a heart attack. It would take too long to write about it all but as one can imagine it is going to take a long time to mend roads and buildings. As a lot of road damage is on the coast line, people are stranded getting in and out of many areas.I live well up the north island and didn't wake when it hit, but my friend lives 10 minutes away and she felt it.

Thank you Jamie T. I wasn't sure what the building was or what the 29 addressed. Forgive the pun.
