This puzzle reminds me of the older man that we bought apples from each year. He had an orchard and beehives that he had established a few years before he retired. The few years we stopped to buy apples, and became fond of the older gentleman and his faithful dog. A stroke and throat cancer slowly decimated him. However his "can do" attitude kept him going. The funniest thing I remember was when the white poodle, Buddy, encountered the frozen turkey outside the cooler in which the picked apples, etc. were stored. He barked at the previously unseen bird because he was protecting his Dad. He and my husband were inside the cooler loading up apples. The loyalty of animals is amazing. The fact that Buddy was on a leash held by a young girl (great grandchild) in the orchard was a bummer. The absence of the old man's truck was a dead giveaway to the situation. It is the end to an era of retired people creating businesses that reflect their work ethic,
God bless you all.
