I think they are both the same but the cupcakes are more colourful than the muffins and cupcakes you can get them a lot larger, very yummy I think they originate from America, Thank you America for creating these for us. And a big thank you team for giving us these puzzles and Ideas.

I guess a big cupcake is a muffin. One could make a banana walnut cupcake or muffin and put some frosting on it...as muffins usually don't! Well Hooray for another AMERICAN invention.

Many people believe that cupcakes are muffins with frosting but that's not quite right.
A muffin is a quick bread while a cupcake is exactly that, a mini cake - different mixing methods and crumb. Any batter for cupcakes can be baked into a normal sized cake/torte.

Over in yorkshire we have muffins like flat tea cakes and we also have large buns which they are now called muffins. Mainly the bread muffins you find in Lancashire, or so I am told.

I have been knitting these all week for a children's nursery, chocolate, strawberry lime, lemon, sparkly pink you name I have done them all and how nice it is to do the easy way with your puzzle's. Thank you team for such a variety.
