That's a pretty, 'tho wild-looking turkey. I love dark turkey more than light.

A pretty turkey
we never had turkey when I was growing up
I don't remember having a thanksgiving dinner
we eat what ever we had and was thankful for it
This is what we had around in our yard yesterday, 2 large toms, one younger (smaller) tom & 5/6 hens. They were here for most of the day, on the storage bldg., gar., front yard, back yard, & patio, very strange since we live in a city, not on the outskirts.
I never plucked a turkey. I don't know if our folks ever killed them for the holidays or bought them. Probably were a lot of them in the open fields back then.

it's been a long lonely day
but thank God for seeing me through it
