I love unusual birds. My late husband loves birds and knows nearly all types, their breeds and study how they live and so on. I am more of a cat lover and have a 10 year old dog Charlie, a miniature fox terrier. He is my guard, faithful watch dog and a brilliant companion especially when I am nearly blind and 3/4 deaf. God bless you all. On a different note, sorry I have not been around for sometime.- change of details. It is almost winter in Oz and the nights are darn cold. Our Aussie winter is so different to Europe.
Pretty birds.until they won't stop looking for bugs in the shingles/wood of your home....they are like alarm clocks, esp the pileated (woody woodpecker) ones.......
I heard one tapping one time. Did not recognize the sound the first time 'cause he/she was not like the cartoon "Woody Woodpecker, Knothead, and Splinter" cartoons.
